This is a vacuum multilayer heat insulating material used as a radiation heat suppression film in vacuum areas for cryogenic and space applications. It demonstrates good thermal insulation performance as a cryogenic MLI* for equipment used near absolute zero, such as superconducting equipment, superconducting power transmission cables, and cryogenic containers, and as a thermal shield to protects satellites and spacecraft from radiant heat. MLI has been used in many space applications, including the “KOUNOTORI” Space Station supply vehicle and the “KIBO” International Space Station.
*MLI: Multi-Layer Insulation
